    Career in the provincial legislature

    In the general election, Bopape was elected as a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature; she was ranked 19th on the ANC's party list.[1] After the election, on 23 May , newly elected Premier of Gauteng David Makhura announced that Bopape had been appointed to his Executive Council as MEC for Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture.[2&
